Removal of Benign Oral Lesions

Benign oral mucosal lesions are tissue growths that do not have malignant potential, but may increase in size, become traumatized during chewing, or cause discomfort, bleeding or difficulties with speech and swallowing.

Preparation

Treatment at 88 Medical Club begins with a consultation with an oral surgeon.

During the examination, the doctor assesses:

  • the location of the lesion
  • its size, shape and surface
  • the condition of surrounding tissues
  • any signs of trauma or inflammation

At this stage, our goal is to accurately determine the nature of the lesion, rule out potentially dangerous conditions and decide on the optimal treatment approach.

Procedure

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia or, if needed, under sedation, ensuring comfort for the patient. During the intervention, our oral surgeon:

  • performs atraumatic excision of the lesion within healthy tissue boundaries
  • monitors the condition of blood vessels and soft tissues in the treated area
  • forms a precise postoperative suture if necessary

Special attention is given to preserving anatomy, function and aesthetics, especially when lesions are located in the smile zone or areas actively involved in chewing and speech.

All excised tissue is sent for histological examination a standard practice at our clinic and an essential part of cancer vigilance.
